  • Oyster Repurposing - Volunteers Needed

    November 22, 2019  9:00 am - 11:00 am

Description: The County's Coastal Division is looking for volunteers to help repurpose oyster mats donated by CCA. The oyster shell attached to these mats will be stockpiled and used to create oyster bags which will be deployed at the County's first living shoreline project located at Round Island. This repurposing process will take a few months to complete and multiple volunteer days. Please join us as we start the process for our first public living shoreline project in IRC.

Volunteer sessions will take 3 hours (if you cannot stay the whole time that is alright) and there will be multiple stations during each session.

The Coastal Division's oyster staging area is located at the Xioria warehouse on the intersection of 27th ave and 1st St SW (south county)
